Kenai Acapulco Restaurant in Kenai

We had dinner here during the Covid and the staff was wearing gloves and mask which made us feel comfortable that they were taking this serious. The food was great and the staff was very friendly.

I had high hopes for this place since before with the last name Acapulco the restaurant was amazing and staff treated me so well. Food now... isn't the best. I've eaten here 3 times trying to give it a chance and maybe the cook was just having an off day. The waitress i've had i've had the following problems with she put in the wrong order, never check up on us after giving us our food, put in an appetizer instead of the lunch meal. Sure they are friendly but they don't go above or beyond like the last gals did. THe way the restaurant is set up now also looks cheap and cheesy.. you can see where the booths should be connected to the wall. It looks very messy and cluttered with the booths out like they are. I will say Acapulco and their crew really put up some high expectations that this place just isn't making the cut. If the food was great I would come back and deal with how sloppy it is and the staff.. but it's not so I won't be coming back here for a 4th time.

I got a fish taco thinking the fish was going to be fresh, but when I took a bite not only was the fish old it was not cooked.The waiters however, were very nice and would got something right away when me or my kid would ask for something.And last I saw their kitchen and I swear i saw a rat and there was a long hair in my daughters food.Overall I give the restaurant two stars. But I wouldn't recommend eating there.

We were pleasantly surprised. Fantastic selection. My fajitas were obviously cooked fresh. My husband enjoyed his burrito. The staff is delightful.
